Dr. Parker obtained her MS degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Oklahoma Baptist University in 2005, followed by her PhD from the University of Georgia in 2009. After earning her PhD, Dr. Parker moved to Connecticut, where she practiced couples and family therapy at the Hospital for Special Care – Autism Center. She has since moved back to Tallahassee and conducts research on integrative healthcare and families affected by Autism.

Dr. Parker practices therapy from a strengths-based approach, which assumes clients inherently possess the necessary skills to overcome the challenges they’re currently experiencing. In addition to some of the most difficult personal and relational issues families can experience, she also provides therapy for practicing clinicians. As an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, she highly values and recommends personal therapy for therapists and counselors as an effort in self-care.
