Art Workshop for Teens – Ages 13-17

 

Creating Connections: Encouraging Self Expression & Individuality

This workshop will providing an outlet for creative expression for tweens and teens to cope through the support of a positive online community. Participants will be guided by an art therapist through art exercises focusing on relaxation and reducing stress, building self-awareness, encouraging self-expression, creating healthy relationships and exploring each individual’s identity. Participants will have an option to contribute their artwork to an online art space where they can interact with and provide support for others sharing their artwork created each week.
Suggested supplies for participants:
– Drawing paper or sketchbook
– Markers
– Colored pencils
– Crayons or oil pastels
– Scissors
– Glue
– Ruler
– Round object for tracing (bottom of a coffee can, lid of a jar of peanut butter, etc)
*Participants are encouraged to incorporate objects found around their homes, and any substitutions for supplies are welcome – even digital art is encouraged if physical supplies are not available!
